Claude Chevalier attended the University of Vermont where he majored in geology. He has lived in Highgate, Vermont since his childhood. Claude is president of Chevalier Drilling Co. Inc., a family business that was started by his father in 1953. He and his late wife Barbara have three children and five grandchildren. He currently serves on the Church Board and is the Church Treasurer.
Taylor Yates, Jr., MD, FAAP took his BA from the University of Virginia and MD from the Medical College of Virginia. Taylor married Marsha A. Wells in Philadelphia where he completed his pediatric residency at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children. He served two years in the United States Navy before working with his father in Alexandria, Virginia for 2 years. They came to St. Albans in 1976 and have run a pediatric practice since that time.
Lee Pfanstiel grew up in St. Albans, Vermont, graduated from Bellows Free Academy and served three years in the U.S. Army before settling into a career as a residential building contractor. Lee met his wife, Diane at the Church of the Rock. They were married in 1989, blended a family of four children and now have four grandchildren. Together, they have a heart for foreign missions and disaster relief and have been on numerous mission trips to Central and South America.
Sue Southwick attended the University of Colorado in Boulder and then worked at the Denver Athletic Club as Director of Membership for eight years. She married Dave Southwick and moved to Phoenix, Arizona for seven years. They have resided in Vermont since 1994 and have four adult children and two grandchildren. Sue and Dave joined COTR in 1996, and Sue has been involved in many ministry areas including Benevolence, MOPs, Girl's Ministry, Women's Ministry and leading a women's book study group.
Martita Giard was born in Puerto Rico and grew up in New Hampshire. She attended and graduated from Champlain College and moved to Vermont in 1984. She lives with her husband Rich in Fairfield and presently works at OneCare Vermont/University of Vermont Medical Center. Martita joined Church of the Rock in 2005 and has been involved in several ministries including Music Ministry, Finance Committee, Missions, and Board of Elders. Her passions are music, horseback riding, scuba diving, and other water sports. She loves sharing her walk with the Lord with others and making personal connections with people.
Peter was born the middle child of five siblings and raised in a military family that lived all over the United States and Germany. He is a 1976 graduate of the United States Military Academy (West Point). Peter completed two years of pre-med at Holy Cross College, received his MD degree from Dartmouth Medical School in 1984, and completed residencies in Pathology at Penn State University and Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. He is board-certified in both Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, and a Fellow of the College of American Pathologists (FCAP) and the American Society of Clinical Pathology (FASCP). Peter was the Medical Director of Pathology and Laboratory Services at Northwestern Medical Center from 1988 to his retirement in 2015. He is married to Donna Burke, has three children (Matthew, Jason, and Anya), a daughter-in-law (Crystal), and two grandchildren (Ella and Liam). Peter has served on the finance committee and now sits on the board of elders for COTR.
Brian DiFranco grew up in Geneseo, NY and attended college at Finger Lakes and Plattsburgh State. He currently works at the Burlington Police Department. He is happily married to his wife Tammi and has two children, Christian and Samantha.
